5 Healthy Protein Smoothies to Help Maintain Your Weight

Today we’re going to talk about the great benefits of protein smoothies. Some time ago I stopped eating red meat but realized my body still needed it’s intake of protein to stay healthy.

It seems the perfect solution to increase your protein intake is enjoying delicious protein smoothies!

I must admit I did think it was only bodybuilders or athletes who drank this type of smoothie. But on doing some researched I’ve discovered your body needs protein and you will benefit from these delicious protein smoothies!

Protein helps you have healthy skin and hair (and muscle growth if you do intense training).

The thing is, these protein smoothies are just so easy and quick to make, especially for busy women like us!

Why are Protein Smoothies so good?

Did you know your body actually heats up more during digestion of protein. It will burn more calories than when you are digesting carbohydrate and fat, so you burn more calories (and who doesn’t want to burn more calories!).

Yogurt and or protein supplements can help your body slow down the absorption of sugar. You are probably aware of the vast increase in people developing diabetes today, so anything we can do not cause a rise in our blood sugar is healthy.

According to MedicalNet a survey in 2020 reported:

  1. 32.4 million people in the USA have diabetes
  2. 10.5% of the US population suffer from diabetes.

32.4 million people in the USA have diabetes

This is an alarming and astonishing fact that now 1 in every 10 Americans are diabetic.

If you have a significant amount of weight to lose, then adding a protein powder to your smoothie can help you crave less carbohydrate packed foods as you body feels full for longer.
