Why You Need to Create Healthy Habits

To maintain a healthy lifestyle you need to create healthy habits. Why?

Because it’s easy to start procrastinating and putting things off if you don’t make them into a healthy habit.

Healthy habits will improve your daily life, and help you accomplish more in your life.

1. Start with one small habit

When you create new healthy habits, remember these two points:

a. Start with one healthy habit at a time.
b. You want to start small.

Perhaps your vision of your perfect life involves many difficult and complex changes to reach your goal.

The thing is, you’ll find it’s more difficult to keep up difficult habits if you haven’t started with simple ones first.

For example, say you want to run a marathon. You would struggle if you’re not even able to run a mile without feeling tired, right?

You have to start with small habits first before you can hope to accomplish the more complex and difficult ones.

2. How to create your first healthy habits

This will really depend on your circumstances and what you want to achieve in life and what you want the end result to be.

The best way to create a new healthy habit is to choose a task that’s easy to do and you can start right away.

For example:

  • making your bed before you leave for work
  • brushing your teeth twice a day
  • preparing a healthy snack to take to work
  • walking part of the way to work and parking your car further away
  • get 10 minutes of sunshine (just being outside is good) to increase your levels of Vitamin D

3. Making sure you keep up your healthy habits

Eventually, you’ll want to create other healthy habits into your lifestyle, which is great. But remember, you need to maintain your previous healthy habits and keep going as you introduce new ones.

You should aim to be performing these healthy habits without even thinking about it. Basically, it becomes a HABIT!

Keep doing your new habit for at least 30 days before you start moving on to the next one.

4. Struggling to create your healthy habits?

If you’re finding your healthy habit isn’t working, don’t worry.

Sit down and think WHY it isn’t working for you.

You don’t want to stop it because you don’t feel like doing it anymore. You need to look at the benefits you’ll gain my continuing with that particular healthy habit.
