Wouldn’t you just love to make your belly flatter? Well, who wouldn’t?

We’re bombarded every day in newspapers, on the telly and on the Internet about these great miracle cures and numerous diet pills to help us lose weight. But do they really work?

I’ve done some research (as my belly fat isn’t going anywhere) and found there are actually cheap and natural foods that can help us get rid of belly fat naturally.

You don’t need to take any diet pills. So I’m going to share them with you.

OK, here are six foods that will help you to make your belly flatter:

1. Bananas

Bananas have a low to medium glycemic index, so they should not cause rises in blood sugar levels compared to other high-carb foods. Bananas do have several properties that can make them weight loss-friendly food.2. Green tea

Not really a ‘food’. In an article from Healthline it’s stated that green tea contains bioactive substances like caffeine and EGCG. These substances can have a powerful effect on metabolism.

It seems the benefits of drinking green tea is its effect of increasing calorie expenditure, which makes you burn more fat.

3. Whole grains

This is great news if you love carbs. But you have to eat the right type of carb to make your belly flatter. Whole grains like brown rice, oatmeal and bulgur all help to keep your body’s insulin levels low.

Research seems to indicate this group of carbohydrates may actually shrink fat cells. This is because your body will burn these calories more slowly refined carbs found in white bread and rice.

4. Yogurt

You may think all yogurts are the same. In fact, diet yogurts are not always beneficial if you want to make your belly flatter. Greek yogurt is very tasty and also contains many benefits.

Any food that provides a combination of protein and carbohydrates will always help your body to keep insulin levels healthy.

It’s very important for us to maintain good insulin levels as this hormone will send messages to store excess calories as fat if their levels get too high.

5. Eggs

Eggs are one of the cheapest and healthiest foods around. Not only can you cook them in various different ways, boiled, poached, fried and as an omelet but they also help fill you up during the day.

If you eat eggs for breakfast you’ll find you won’t feel hungry for a good period of time.
