Today, we’re going to cover crocheting patterns for animals. Don’t you just love those little crochet animals that mean so much to little kids (and also big ones!).
As far as we know, the craft of crocheting didn’t exist until around the 19th century, whereas knitting can be traced back to at least four centuries before crochet.
It all started in Ireland when the country was developing its successful lace industry.
The craft of crocheting became popular in the USA when the Irish immigrants arrived and soon made this craft a household activity loved by thousands.
After the second world war when people lived a more relaxing life the art of crocheting really took off and became a popular hobby.
Crochet enthusiasts enjoyed creating tablecloths, edgings for pillowcases, handkerchiefs and towels. Then, during the 1960s the craft of crocheting took a creative turn with creators being more ambitious and non-traditional.
